It is recommended that you complete the ‘How to apply for a PhD in Germany – online course’ offered free of cost by Research in Germany. Registration for the course is open and the course takes 6-9 hours to complete. (moodle.daad.de/phd) It will introduce you to the research landscape of Germany and will help you pick the suitable institution for your PhD.

Application will be completely online.
You are requested to fill up the application form and upload the  documents that include the following as one pdf document

  1. an updated CV
  2. abstract of research proposal and
  3. if you have completed the course, then the completion certificate of ‘How to apply for a PhD in Germany – online course
