Thematic Germany Alumni Clusters India and South Asia: Kick-off Meets in Delhi and Chennai

Germany has built a strong and diverse alumni network across India and South Asia over the years. Alumni engagement has demonstrated significant potential for academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and regional cooperation.

To further strengthen subject-specific engagement, the DAAD has initiated thematic alumni clusters that bring together alumni based on shared academic and professional interests.

The initiative aims to:
• Strengthen subject-specific alumni networks
• Foster collaboration among alumni, researchers and stakeholders
• Streamline and structure alumni engagement activities in India and South Asia

The clusters will be organised around overarching subject areas as below:
• Agricultural & Ecological Sciences (Oct 2026, with and at TERI SAS)
• Engineering (Oct 2026: at IIT Madras)
• Natural Science and Mathematics (2027)
• Management, Humanities & Social science (2027)

If you are a Germany alumnus/alumna and would like to join a cluster, please write to alumni.newdelhi@daad.de
