DAAD at the SPARC Conclave 2026
DAAD Regional Office New Delhi participated in the SPARC Conclave 2026, titled “Collaborative Research with Global Impact: Internationalization of Indian Academia for Viksit Bharat 2047,” held on 8–9 March 2026 at the IIT Kharagpur Research Park, Kolkata.
Organised under the SPARC (Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaborations) by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the conclave brought together 200+ and students from 400+ SPARC projects, alongside academic leaders, policymakers, funding agencies, diplomatic representatives, and international partners to discuss global research collaboration and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
DAAD runs a co-funded programme under the SPARC initiative – SPARC GIANT (German Indian Academic Network for Tomorrow). During the conclave, we participated in a panel discussion on global research partnerships and delivered a presentation on the SPARC GIANT programme.
The event also highlighted bilateral initiatives such as SPARC-GIANT (2025–2026), which aims to deepen academic and research collaboration between India and Germany, and recognized the role of DAAD in supporting Indo–German academic exchange and long-term cooperation.
