The Web Talk Series aims to facilitate popular science amongst the network and beyond, thereby intensifying and facilitating exchange of ideas and initiate a dialogue in SDG fields through relevant research being conducted. It also aims at showcasing research work by the alumni network to share it with a wider audience through good practice examples.

Furthermore, the event aims to strengthen the network of subject-specific alumni groups in the region. Each web talk will thus address a group of related SDGs where research or similar projects are currently being undertaken.

This event will consist of three web talks spread across 2022. This year’s web talk series will address the following SDGs –

  1. Quality Education (SDG 4)
  2. Sustainable Consumption and Production (SDG 12)
  3. Life Below Water (SDG 14)

To expand the reach of this important discourse, this year, call for papers are invited from not just the DAAD South Asia region but also from former scholarship holders of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) from India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka as well as the Southeast Asia region.

As catalysts working towards finding solutions to global challenges, the alumni network paves the way in science, research, technology, and academic excellence.
